Come to the Nature Center for a HOWLING good time at this year's Serpentine Howl-O-Ween! There will be warm cider, snacks, arts and crafts, a Howl-O-Ween style Family Feud, games, and face painting.

Dress in your best costume for the Costume Contest at 5:30 pm!

Valentine’s Day – the human celebration of courtship. With flowers and candies, we woo each other, tapping into the need to love and be loved that every human has.

We aren’t the only ones, either – though we are the only ones with a holiday dedicated to these displays of affection. Many animals also have complex and creative courtship traditions.

If you’ve never heard of Nibbles the Groundhog, then you must be living in a hole in the ground – which, as Nibbles would say, is a perfectly pleasant place to be. On February 2nd, the WNC Nature Center's Groundhog, Nibbles, made her prediction!   According to WLOS's Holly Headrick's interpretation of Groundhogese, Nibbles closed her eyes on the beautiful sunny day and did not see her shadow! Spring is on the way!
