WNC Nature Center presents
“North Carolina Elk Experience;
An educational journey for 2009!”
Our most popular offsite excursion for the WNC Nature Center’s is our NC Elk Experience to the Cataloochee Valley. We are looking forward to another year of educational experiences with guests. The journey will take us just west of Asheville into the beautiful mountains of Haywood County.
We invite you to join us for our 2009 spring trip to on September 8 and September 17 to view the elk in Cataloochee Valley. The fee is $20.00 per person ($18.00 if a member of the Friends of the WNC Nature Center). Tickets are sold on first come-first served basis. Snacks are served in the vans. Guests may elect to drive their own vehicles at a reduced rate ($10.00 per person).
Guest will meet at 3:00pm at the Nature Center in our classroom for a one hour presentation on elk ecology and biology. We will then load our vans and travel west on Interstate 40 to exit 20, the Cataloochee Valley exit. We plan on returning to the Nature Center by 8:30pm (varies with our outdoor experiences in the valley).
Call Keith to purchase your tickets or with any questions you may have at (828) 298-5600, ext 305. The center accepts Visa, MasterCard, checks or cash. We look forward to your company on the NC Elk Trip!
