Friends Office Internship (non-pay)
The Friends of the WNC Nature Center is proud to offer internships throughout the year.

This
internship is open to all majors but would greatly benefit those
looking to enter one of the following career fields: business
administration, management, parks and recreations, psychology, or
anyone interested in working with nonprofit organizations.
Scheduling
is flexible, however, candidates must be able to work 10 - 20 hours per
week with at least a 3 month commitment. Internships during the fall
months require working the weekend of our yearly fundraiser in October.
You must be able to interact with staff and volunteers in a friendly
and helpful manner.
This position encourages personal and professional growth to the intern in the following areas:
-- Basic office functions, including database management
-- Memberships and Donations
-- Event Planning
-- Maintaining professional relationships with staff and volunteers
-- Much more
What we hope to accomplish with you (some of our goals):
1.
Work up a volunteer database whereas the intern would be responsible
for the volunteers including assigning job duties and setting schedules.
2. Work up a database of members, volunteers, donors, and other interested parties in the community.
3.
Upgrade our office to be "technologically" friendly. Scanning in bills,
memberships, etc. and storing them on disk for future use.
4. Organization of past files.
5.Creating "Membership Drives" at least one day per week. During fall and spring these days would be on the weekend.
